Are you one of those who have always been wondering how would I look if I lose this much fat? Or how many pounds do I need to shed? Or are you someone who is super-duper weight conscious and counts every pound they have been gaining so far? Also, have you ever met another person and that very person looks somewhat changed to you just by gaining 20 pounds? But, that is not it. Why? Because 20lbs fat does not look the same on every person. Yes, you read it right. Neither every weight gain nor every weight loss is similar.
This is why loss of 20lbs fat look different on different persons as well. There could be two reasons for it:
- The way you have lost weight.
- Your initial weight that you begin with.
For instance, when a person chooses to shed 20 pounds by weight-lifting then ultimately, he/she would have more of a lean look but with muscles ofcourse. On the contrary, when another person tries to lose weight by doing just cardio, he/she would end up being thin however, they might have saggy skin issues.
From my personal experience, I can vouch for the massive difference that 20lbs brought to me since I did it both ways. Once by muscle building exercises and once by jogging and walking. I would definitely opt for muscle building exercises since it made my body more toned and in shape.
However, persons with different heights would also vary the loss of 20lbs. for example, a person whose height is 6 inches would not really have a clear difference of 20lbs loss or gain but on the other hand, a person who is only 5’1” would depict 20lbs to such a great extent.
Jessica, an Instagram influencer shared; “Transformation Sunday ! ( if that’s even a thing ) -20 lbs in 6 months! Photo on the left was last summer and photo on the right is current! Still have 5 more pounds to go to reach my goal 🙂 not only do I feel great but health and fitness has become a lifestyle I’ve learned to love ❤”
Marie, a Montreal based traveler quoted, “”I guess we could say I lost a little bit of weight 💁🏻this year keeping my weight off will be the goal! #20poundsdown #bodybydrumcorps #cbccg #cadets2016″
As it is rightly said in Energetic Lifestyle Team’s article “What does 20 pounds of fat look like?”, “20 pounds of fat looks like a lawn mower, a water cooler, and a sledge hammer. It’s no easy feat to burn 20 pounds of fat, so any attempt to do so is admirable and worthy of respect. The health benefits of losing that much weight are significant, as are the psychological benefits.” So, the next time anyone tells you how easy it is to shed 20 pounds of fat, just tell them to pick any of the above mentioned objects and ask them how it felt? Hah! Easier said than done, right?
